no bake kelp energy bites

Protein bites are always the best homemade. We have yet to find a store bought version that we like better. There are dozens of varying recipes out there, but we make ours with Maine grown organic seaweed, obviously 😉.

We like to whip these up and store them in the fridge for a quick sweet, salty and crunchy bite throughout the week. They take 10 minutes to make and can be eaten straight away - *chef's kiss*.

We encourage you to get creative. You can also add flax seed, edible flowers, coconut flakes, or dried berries.

Prep Time: 10 mins

Makes: 12 balls

You'll Need:

  • 1 cup of old fashioned oats
  • 2/3 cup of peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup of chai seeds
  • 3 tbsp of honey
  • 2 tbsp of Organic Alaria Flakes
  • 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp of cinnamon

Directions:

Add all of your ingredients to a large mixing bowl and stir well. If too dry, add more peanut butter or honey. If too wet, add more oats. We like to use chunky peanut butter, and raw honey in ours, so the measurements above end up about right.

Once the ingredients are mixed well, place the entire mixture into the fridge for 15-20 minutes. This step is optional - you can skip this and go straight to forming balls, but tossing in the fridge for several minutes can make forming the balls a bit easier.

Once ready, grab a small handful and form a ball by rolling the mixture between your hands.

After all of your balls are formed, you can add to a dish, store in the fridge, and enjoy!
