seaweed salt

If you are new to using seaweeds in your cooking, we often advise using seaweed as a salt alternative, or as a salt substitute if you are on a low sodium diet.

However, our Organic Sugar Kelp & Alaria Flakes also pair very well with sea salt if you like things extra salty and ocean-forward like we do.

Sugar kelp and alaria not only provide an extra nutritional boost to the salt, but a briny flavor as well that pairs wonderfully with buttered popcorn, noodles, eggs, or cooked seafood.

And like many of our favorite seaweed recipes, this one takes less than five minutes to make.

Prep Time: 2 mins

Makes: 6 oz

You'll Need:

5 oz of Sea Salt, we use Maine Sea Salt

1-2 tbsp of Organic Sugar Kelp Flakes or Organic Alaria Flakes (or both!)

Directions:

In an airtight container mix your sea salt and seaweed flakes together. Store at room temperature, away from direct light.
